BET has announced its scripted drama Being Mary Jane will end in 2018.

The series stars Gabrielle Union as the titular character who deals with the dramas of balancing her career and her personal life, both of which are peppered with drama and heartbreak. Being Mary Jane has been on-air for four seasons and attracted many big names in its tenure (besides its star), including Michael Ealy, Ava DuVernay, Cardi B, Ludacris, Kelly Rowland, Wayne Brady and Tamar Braxton.

The plan is for the series to close with a two-hour movie to be released sometime in 2018.

“We are grateful to the cast and creators of Being Mary Jane, who have worked tirelessly to bring this world to vivid life over the past four seasons,” said Connie Orlando, head of programming at BET. “We also thank the many loyal viewers whose hearts and minds were captured every week, and kept Mary Jane trending world wide. We look forward to closing out Mary Jane’s journey with a series finale taht is sure to blow fans away!”
