80s Movies on Sling E.T. Moonstruck Field of Dreams

It’s ’80s Favorites Weekend on Sling

It’s one of the last weekends before summer — why not spend part of it enjoying a simpler time? Re-watch your favorite films from the decade of decadence now in your Chrome web browser.

1. E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

Grab some Reese’s Pieces and get ready to relive your childhood: E.T. is available on demand on HBO. (If you don’t subscribe to HBO, you can also rent in SD for $2.99 or HD for $3.99.)

2. Back to the Future

Fun fact: during development one exec wanted to rename this would-be classic “Spacemen from Pluto,” presumably because cocaine because unlike Marty he had not seen how that future would turn out. Available on HBO or rental (SD $2.99; HD $3.99).

3. Pretty Woman

Fine: it’s technically not an ’80s movie (Pretty Woman was released in March of 1990), but it was definitely still filmed in the ’80s, as evidenced by Richard Gere’s power suits and Julia Roberts’ hair. Watch now on USA.

4. Moonstruck

Before she became queen of drunk tweeting, Cher won an Oscar for slapping Nic Cage. Enjoy Moonstruck now on Tribeca Shortlist.

5. St. Elmo’s Fire

Coincidence or deal with the devil? Rob Lowe and Demi Moore both stopped aging circa this Brat Pack classic, available now on Tribeca Shortlist. Watch and judge for yourself.

6. A Fish Called Wanda

Perennial scene-stealer Kevin Kline’s role as a diamond thief in A Fish Called Wanda won Best-Supporting-Actor gold at the 1989 Academy Awards. Yep, another classic brought to you by Tribeca Shortlist.

7. Field of Dreams

Before ruling a ranching empire on Paramount Network’s Yellowstone (premiering June 20th), Kevin Costner ran a cornfield baseball diamond for shoeless ghosts. Rent the movie that still makes your dad cry (SD $2.99; HD $3.99).

Make it to Monday without checking out any of these hits?
