You may have heard that Sling TV has increased the price of its Orange service by $5 per month. We are committed to transparency, and before I dive into what this means for you, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the past three and a half years.
How We Got Here
Sling TV has truly evolved since we launched in 2015. As the first live streaming service, we changed how millions of people watch TV today. When we began this journey, we set out to make the TV experience better and to give you the programming you love at the best value without the pain of traditional pay-TV.
When we launched Sling Orange, we had less than 15 channels. Today, we offer more than 30 channels including popular channels like AMC, Comedy Central, and the History Channel, in addition to our original lineup, which includes ESPN, CNN and HGTV.
Since that first launch, we’ve also introduced a second base service, Sling Blue, launched a first-of-its-kind Spanish-language package starting at just $10 per month and bolstered our library to offer more than 400 channels in 22 different languages. Our on-demand library has increased to include more than 65,000 titles, and we’ve provided more than 50 ways to watch Sling TV at home and on-the-go, by expanding our device support to more than 15 platforms.
Sling TV’s New Pricing Structure
Our team works hard to negotiate fair programming deals, with the goal of keeping your price as low as possible. Programming fees, however, only go one direction, and that’s up!
Starting today, new Sling Orange customers can sign up for a 7-day free trial and then enjoy over 30 channels, including ESPN, for $25 per month. Existing Sling Orange customers will see the new monthly price of $25 reflected in their August bill.
New and existing customers who subscribe to both Sling Orange and Sling Blue services will see no change and will still receive both services for only $40 per month. Additionally, our 4 Extras Deal will remain $10 per month and all other Sling Extras and à la carte channels will continue to be the same price.
