It will be a showdown to remember as two welterweight world champions, IBF Champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. and WBC Champion “Showtime” Shawn Porter, faceoff in a 147-pound title headliner match this Saturday, September 28 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The highly-anticipated match is available only on Fox Sports Pay-Per-View, offered on Sling TV with or without a subscription.
Undefeated Spence (25-0, 21 KOs) has already been quoted saying that anyone who wants the title will need to go through him. “It’s going to be a very exciting fight,” said Spence. “Shawn is never in a boring fight and I always entertain. It will be a ‘Fight of the Year’ type fight because our styles mesh.”
Porter having faced Keith Thurman and Danny Garcia, along with other big names in the division, is up to the challenge.
“There haven’t been too many fights as a professional that I’ve been this excited about,” said Porter. “I was really excited about the Danny Garcia fight and I’m really excited about this one. Ever since Spence got a belt, I really circled this fight on my calendar. Preparation is the key. I think I have everything it takes to beat Errol Spence. I’m very confident and my team is confident in what I have to do on September 28. We’ll be ready.”
Fans will get to catch the co-feature of the evening, which pits WBC Super Middleweight Champion Anthony “The Dog” Dirrell against unbeaten former champion David “El Bandera Roja” Benavidez in a powerful 168-pound showdown. The duel between these two fighters is a standout on its own, but fans can watch all the drama unfold in one epic night.
Fans can stream Spence Jr. vs. Porter live from Staples Center in Los Angeles either online or in the Sling TV app for $74.99 – no base subscription to Sling TV required.
